Certified Biblical Counselors of Yuma affirms the following Statement of Faith as the theological foundation for all counseling, teaching, and ministry practices.
1. The Scriptures
- We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, inerrant, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
- Scripture is sufficient for all matters of faith, life, and godliness, and is the final authority in biblical counseling.

2. The Triune God
- We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in essence, power, and glory.

3. God the Father
- We believe God the Father is the sovereign Creator and Sustainer of all things, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, justice, goodness, and love.

4. Jesus Christ
- We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and lived a sinless life.
- Through His substitutionary death on the cross and His bodily resurrection, He accomplished redemption for sinners.
- He is the only mediator between God and man and the sole source of salvation.

5. The Holy Spirit
- We believe the Holy Spirit regenerates sinners, indwells believers, convicts of sin, illumines Scripture, and empowers believers for godly living and obedience.
- The Spirit is essential in producing lasting heart change and spiritual growth.

6. Humanity and Sin
- We believe humanity was created in the image of God but fell into sin through Adam’s disobedience.
- As a result, all people are born sinful by nature and choice, spiritually dead, and unable to please God apart from His grace.

7. Salvation
- We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
- Salvation is a gift of God, not a result of human works, and results in justification, regeneration, and ongoing sanctification.

8. Sanctification and Biblical Counseling
- We believe God uses His Word, the Holy Spirit, and the community of believers to bring about progressive sanctification and heart transformation.
- Biblical counseling is a discipleship ministry that applies Scripture to the issues of life, addressing both suffering and sin with compassion, truth, and the hope of the Gospel.

9. The Church
- We believe the universal Church consists of all true believers in Jesus Christ and that the local church is God’s primary means for spiritual growth, accountability, and pastoral care.

10. The Return of Christ
- We believe in the bodily return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, and the eternal state.
